Teresa Gholson Scholarship

The Teresa A. Gholson Memorial Scholarship was established in memory of Teresa Gholson, former student at the then Southwest Texas State University. Ms. Gholson was a history major and an RA for three semesters at Beretta Hall (1993-1995) who had a strong commitment to learning and assisting others. Her family, friends, and colleagues wanted to preserve her memory by awarding students who have excelled in residence hall leadership, similarly to Teresa.

Any residence hall student who is actively involved in their hall community as a student leader, who has a 3.0 or better, and who will be living on campus next academic year is invited to apply for this scholarship. (As an involved student, perhaps you are a student staff member, a hall council officer or member, and/or involved in the Residence Hall Association- RHA.)

The recipient of the scholarship will receive $1,500 ($750 in the fall and $750 in the spring).

To apply for the Teresa A. Gholson Memorial Scholarship, please answer the following questions in the form of a double spaced, typed essay including a cover sheet with your name and hall. Applications are due every year on the first Friday of April.
