Boko Bucks: You Are Your Own Star
Get Busted & Get Paid!
You may have witnessed some “funny money” being passed around your hall lately and wondered what was going on. If the money you saw was gold in color, chances are you saw a Boko Buck, a new form of campus currency that is part of a program co-sponsored by RHA and Residence Life.
Boko Bucks are being distributed by hall staff to residents who are "busted" studying, working on class projects, or tutoring other residents. Why is the hall staff doing this? Positive re-enforcement. We know that as students you could choose to do lots of things with your time, but if you don’t choose to spend some of that time studying, you will not be successful in college. So the Buck is a way for us to say “good choice!”
Boko Bucks can be used to purchase Texas State items at the RHA store. Items such as t-shirts, caps, book bags, flip-flops, water bottles, lanyards….a variety of things that you would find at the campus bookstore, only you don’t have to pay cash for them. And items are “priced” at a discount, for example, a rainbow t-shirt at the bookstore costs $10.99 + tax out of your pocket, at the RHA store it costs $10 in boko bucks.
So who knows? The next time you’re busted studying by an RA, you may get more than a good grade!
Redeem your Boko Bucks for merchandise at the RHA store, located at the RHA office in Arnold Hall (2nd floor admin building). Hours of operation are:
